Screen Australia

Screen Australia is a Federal Government agency that provides support to Australian film, television, documentary and digital media makers. The agency funds the production of features, documentaries, television drama, children’s programs and online web series, supporting filmmaking across all stages of production and development.

Screen Australia recently relocated their office headquarters to 45 Jones Street Ultimo, a landmark building originally designed by one of Australia’s leading architects, Herbert E. Ross. Built in 1899 for the Co-operative Wool and Produce Company the building was used as a wool store until the 1950’s before being converted to premium offices in 2005.

The key drivers for the move by Screen Australia were to increase staff comfort and reduce operating costs. Hassell designed the new fit out with these requirements in mind. Taking advantage of the high cathedral-like roof the converted the space is light, bright and spacious, holding a 4.5 star NABERS energy rating.

CSM provided office storage solutions for the project focusing on staff organisation and ease of use. Personal storage towers, tambour door cabinets and mobiletti mobile pedestals were built to integrate seamlessly into the workplace design.
