Green Building Council
CSM are proud to be a member of the Green Building Council of Australia . The Green Building Council is a national coalition which promotes sustainable development and the implementation of green building practices throughout the property industry.We are proud to have been key suppliers in some of Australia's first and highest rating commercial fit outs. Including RAAF head offices out at Richmon (a 5 star rated building).

Cradle to cradle
CSM develops its environmental policy interdependantly with all other policy and decision making - we are focused on pursuing a broader definition of quality. Some of the environmental initiatives now in place at our factory include:

• Using the most environmentally safe and healthy materials available. Most of CSM's products are fabricated from sheet metal, a long lasting and fully recyclable material.
• Designing for minimum waste by using computerised nesting programs to maximise the number of components to a sheet.
• Encouraging material reutilization, such as recycling. Our slat offcuts are recycled into a range of pvc piping now sold at retail outlets. All of our steel offcuts are recycled.
• Our packaging for delivery is recycled wool blanketing and is reused over and over again with a lifetime of years. This has eliminated the use of disposable cardboard and polyethylene which was simply thrown out once the goods were delivered and installed.
• The use of renewable energy and energy efficiency is paramount and incorporated in many areas of the plant.
• We are very strict with ensuring the efficient use of water, and reuse wherever we can.
• Instituting strategies for social responsibility.
